Why was this group created?
At least 50% of sexually active adults will have Human Papillomavirus (HPV) at some point in their lives. 1% of sexually active adults have genital warts at any given time.
This virus can happen to anyone. Chances are that at least one of your friends, relatives, or coworkers has HPV. Despite how common and contagious this virus is, it's typical for newly diagnosed patients to feel ashamed, guilty, alone, and depressed. This group was created in an effort to bring these people together and help them understand that we are not alone.
